La riabilitazione protesica con l\u2019ausilio degli impianti che imitano la radice del dente pu\u00f2 essere divisa in due fasi:<\/p>\n

La fase chirurgica<\/strong>\u00a0che comprende tutte le procedure necessarie per il posizionamento dell’impianto nell\u2019osso o sull’osso (arcata) e la preparazione per l’accettazione delle protesi.<\/p>\n

La fase protesica<\/strong>\u00a0comprende tutto il necessario per mettere i denti sulla punta o sulle punte degli impianti. Dopo essere stato collocato nell’osso, l’impianto richiede diversi mesi (durante i quali non \u00e8 in uso) affinch\u00e9 l’osso ci cresca attorno e lo rafforzi. Questo processo viene chiamato osteointegrazione.

Tuttavia, come in qualsiasi intervento chirurgico anche qui il paziente pu\u00f2 sentire un leggero fastidio. In pratica, la maggior parte dei pazienti rimane piacevolmente sorpresa perch\u00e9 si aspettano pi\u00f9 dolore o fastidio durante l\u2019intervento.

Ma vi \u00e8 una piccola percentuale di casi in cui l’impianto non si pu\u00f2 integrare con l’osso, il che pu\u00f2 causare delle complicazioni.<\/p>\n

Anche nelle installazioni ben riuscite \u00e8 fondamentale un\u2019attenta e approfondita igiene orale per prevenire possibili infiammazioni del tessuto gengivale. Tale infiammazione pu\u00f2 provocare la caduta degli impianti, nonch\u00e9 del dente sano che doveva essere sostituito.

Siccome il paziente durante l’intervento non sente dolore, la procedura stessa non fa male, ma ci pu\u00f2 essere un leggero gonfiore nella zona dove sono posizionati gli impianti. \u00c8 quindi importante che subito dopo l\u2019intervento chirurgico venga utilizzata un impacco freddo sulla zona dove sono posizionati gli impianti per alleviare il gonfiore.<\/p>\n

Inoltre, bisogna mantenere una buona igiene orale.
